Goal:

-Is to strengthen the quadriceps (anterior thigh) muscle.

It is used with most postoperative knee conditions and usually contraindicated in knee arthritis condition.


Procedure:


-Sit down on a high leveled chair or bed so that your legs are free from the floor.

-Start by extending your knee till it is fully extended.
-You may hold this position for 5-10 seconds then slowly return to starting position.




Notes:

-Do not do the exercises unless advised by your doctor.

-Repetitions of each exercise depend on your tolerance and condition, usually between 30-50 times.

-If you feel any pain while doing the exercises stop and ask your doctor.
