Trendelenburg Exercise

Trendelenburg Exercise

Goal:



-To strengthen your hip muscles, correct hip rotation deformity.


Procedure:

-In a standing position ,with your feet shoulder width apart.


-Slowly lift one foot off the ground, balancing on your other foot.


-Don’t let the hip of your non weight-bearing leg drops or is lower than the other side as to stabilize your pelvis.







                               Notes:


-Do not rotate, turn or move your top leg during the exercise.


-Keep your legs straight.


-Do not do the exercises unless advised by your doctor.


-Repetitions of each exercise depend on your tolerance and condition, usually between 30-50 times.


-If you feel any pain while doing the exercises stop and ask your doctor.
